Singapore Colour Photographic Society (SCPS) was formed by a group of photographic enthusiasts and officially registered as a photographic society in 1967. It started out a series of activities, including photographic outings, photo critique and appreciation events.
The first international salon competition and exhibition was started in 1975, with 16 countries participated of more than 500 entries. The event became a two-yearly event and SCPS just completed its 23rd international salon in 2015 with an impressive of more than 2500 entries.
SCPS promotes photography and image-making, encourage and help our photographers in realising their potential, and support the advancement of photography as a craft and art form among the interest groups, societies and education bodies.

We are here because..
The Singapore Colour Photographic Society (SCPS) is a membership-based, non-profit organisation based in Singapore. It was registered in 1967 by a group of Singaporean with the aims to increase members’ interest of photography by developing their skills and providing opportunities to show and share their work.
The skill and knowledge level amongst members is wide and different, but photographers often find others at around the same place and enjoy participation through sharing their work. Almost all photographers enjoy discussing photography and sharing what they know. If you have a question, then someone else will have an answer or at least a suggestion for you where to look for the solution. Many member-photographers are professional and do photographic work, the Society’s emphasis is on amateur photography and developing it as an art form and a hobby.
What we do..
The Singapore Colour Photographic Society (SCPS) is one of the art promoting organisations in Singapore promoting both the art and science of photography that helps individuals realise their potential as photographers.
It is a membership based organisation but also organises a number of events for the public benefit. SCPS is opened to all for membership, irrespective of experience or knowledge; simply a passion and love for photography and no qualifications are required to join.
It organises workshops, lectures, photo-shooting and ocassionally field trips.
The Society, its activities and operation are governed by the SCPS Constitution.
Members and individuals of the Management Committee must abide by the rules set out in the Constitution.

Membership is open to all nationalities, join us to learn and benefit from:
· Better member rate for Society activities, when available for workshops, salon and events.
· Able to prticipate in photographic discussion and sharing of technique.Receive Newsletter and photography news around.
· Apply and achieve SCPS Distinctions and Awards (ASCPS, FSCPS, ESCPS…). Your photographic competency is recognised and can display letters after your name.
· Participate in the SCPS competitions.
· Participate in our bi-annual international Salon and Exhibition.
· Receive a link from our site to your personal website.
Distinction & award
The SCPS Distinctions Awards are open to all photographic enthusiasts and professions to apply. The purpose of Distinctions Awards is to give opportunities for applicants to have their works to be examined, certified their standards and the application techniques of Photography.
The following types of distinctions and awards are offerred:
- Associateship ASCPS,
- Fellowship FSCPS,
- Honorary Awards Hon.SCPS and Hon.FSCPS,
- Exhibitor ESCPS, and
- Honorary Exhibitor Hon.ESCPS.
